The innovative Hel-X bio-media provides a tremendous, protected surface area for colonizing beneficial bacteria (245 ft²/ft³). It has 50 liters of Hel-X that decompose approximately 12 oz. of waste per day and can be increased to 75 L per module/18 oz. of waste per day. The sludge drain flushes debris out and winterizes with the simple pull of a handle. The pre-installed aerator bar provides optional oxygen enrichment and mixing to keep biofilm debris free and thriving by adding an AquaOxy 450. The Module provides innovative bypass technology for optimal movement of the hel-x bio-media while keeping flow clear. The Hel-X media can be switched out for PondPads if additional waste removal is needed. A combination of aeration and movement of the bio-media is the most efficient way to maximize biofiltration and remove pollutants. Particles of bio-media in constant motion slough off dead bacteria, exposing new colonies to pollutants in the water. However, too much motion or collision of the particles can damage colonies on the outside of the floating media. The Hel-X bio-media has a huge ratio of protected inner surface versus the exposed surface so the agitation caused by the turbulent water does not damage the bacterial colonies inside the media. This keeps colonies clean and active without a loss of decomposition capacity. The ProfiClear Moving Bed Module has two 180mm inlets and two DN 150 outlets. It has a water discharge outlet of DN 75, a minimum flow of 2,640 GPH and a maximum flow of 8,700 GPH. It has a media surface area of 50 L Hel-X / 515 square feet and has dimensions of 32.75”L x 26.75”W x 32.25”H and a 3-year warranty.
