Description
IonMate Replacement Copper Probe Assembly - Drop-In Model
Maintain Crystal-Clear Water with Ease
The IonMate Replacement Copper Probe Assembly is a vital component for maintaining the efficiency of your IonMate Electronic Algae Control System. Designed specifically for the "Drop-In" configuration, this assembly replaces worn-out probes that have exhausted their copper supply. By releasing controlled copper ions into the water, these probes naturally mineralize string algae, preventing it from taking over your pond liner, stream beds, and decorative waterfalls.
Over time, the copper bars on the assembly will erode as they do their job. Regularly replacing the probe ensures your system never skips a beat in protecting your aquatic ecosystem from unsightly green growth.
Key Features:
-
Direct Replacement: Specifically designed for use with IonMate Drop-In electronic ionization systems.
-
Effective String Algae Control: High-quality copper probes provide consistent ion release to target and eliminate algae at its source.
-
Simple Installation: The "Drop-In" design allows you to quickly swap out the old assembly in your skimmer, pump vault, or filter basin without any plumbing work.
-
Genuine IonMate Quality: Built to the manufacturer's exact specifications for long-lasting performance and perfect fit.
-
Safe for Pond Life: When used as directed with your IonMate controller, the ions released are safe for fish and aquatic plants.

When to Replace Your Probe Copper probes are a sacrificial part of your algae control system. Their lifespan typically ranges from one to two seasons, depending on the size of your pond, the severity of algae growth, and your controller settings. You should inspect the probes at the beginning of each season and mid-summer. If the copper bars appear significantly thinned or are missing, a replacement is necessary to maintain effective algae control.
Installation Tip: To maximize the life of your new probe, ensure it is placed in an area of high water flow to prevent localized copper concentration and to ensure even distribution of ions. Before connecting the new assembly, wipe down the plug and port to ensure a clean, dry connection with the controller lead.
Note: This is the replacement probe assembly only. It requires an IonMate Electronic Controller (sold separately) for operation. For ponds with snails, shrimp, or other invertebrates, use with caution as these species are sensitive to copper.
