Description
IonMate Electronic Algae Control System - Drop-In Model
The Ultimate Solution for a String Algae-Free Pond
Tired of manually removing string algae from your waterfalls and rocks? The IonMate Electronic Algae Control System provides a safe, automatic, and highly effective way to keep your water feature looking its best. By utilizing scientifically proven ionization technology, this system releases controlled amounts of copper ions into the water, which effectively mineralizes and destroys string algae at the microscopic level.
This Drop-In Model is perfect for homeowners who want an easy setup. The probe assembly is designed to be "dropped" directly into a skimmer box, pump vault, or a high-flow area of your filter, making it an ideal choice for both new builds and existing ponds.
Key Features:
-
Automatic Algae Prevention: Significantly reduces the need for manual cleaning and chemical algaecides.
-
Easy "Drop-In" Installation: No complex plumbing required. Simply place the probe in your skimmer or pump vault and plug the controller into a standard outdoor outlet.
-
Adjustable Control Panel: Features an easy-to-use interface that allows you to increase or decrease ion production based on your pond's specific needs and the time of year.
-
Eco-Friendly and Safe: When used correctly, the low levels of copper ions are safe for fish, frogs, and aquatic plants.
-
Clear Water Results: Keeps waterfalls, stream beds, and decorative rocks free of unsightly green growth.

How It Works The IonMate system consists of a weatherproof control box and a replaceable copper probe. The controller sends a low-voltage electrical current to the probe, causing it to release copper ions into the water. These ions act as a natural clarifying agent that targets string algae. Unlike UV clarifiers, which only kill suspended "green water" algae, the IonMate system treats the algae that grows directly on surfaces like pond liners and rocks.
Installation Tip: For the best results, place the drop-in probe in a location with high water velocity, such as the mouth of a skimmer or near the pump intake. This ensures the ions are distributed evenly throughout the entire pond. Use a copper test kit periodically to monitor levels and adjust the controller setting as needed to maintain the ideal range (typically 0.15 to 0.25 ppm).
Note: This system is designed for use in freshwater ponds and water features only. It should not be used in ponds containing invertebrates like snails or shrimp, as they are highly sensitive to copper.
