Transformers are epoxy filled and weatherproof for long life and have field replaceable fuse in case of overloading.

If you have a quartz sleeve make sure and clean it with acetone when you change your bulb to truly have a clean quartz sleeve. As a general rule of thumb, you should change your UV bulb after about 8,000 hours use. This is about once a year.
