If your pond is made of rubber or plastic you should purchase the optional guard.
This guard (shown top-right not to scale) easily snaps onto several plastic API models of de-icers. It is constructed of galvanized wire and assembled without the use of welding, forming a much more sturdy and durable guard.
Spare Me! Keep a spare air pump or water pump on hand for emergencies. If your pump ever stops, do not feed your Koi.
Consider using seperate water pumps for your waterfall and filter. This way you will always have a backup, and you can save energy.
