The Model 8.8-C is definately the Mac Daddy of all bead filters in its price range. Boasting worry free maintenance on ponds up to 28,000 gallons. Aquadynelatest proving ground for high fish load concentrations on the Model 8.8 is a commercial fishery that is running 600 pounds of fish in a single living, growing system with generous feeding habits, yet they claim a most excellent water quality with regard to waste management. At such a heavy load, their practice is to take a few minutes and backwash the system every day to eliminate the mechanical waste from the heavy feeding that goes on in the commercial facility. In the average large pond installation, the sheer volume of the Model 8.8 can bless you with only having to backwash as little as once every 3 weeks. These farmers joke that you really can clean the filter with a cup of coffee in your hand.

As of June 1999 Aqua introduced a new option for Aquadyne which has become standard on many models. This is the Dyna~Max Air Assist Bead Pre-Rinse and works most exceptionally with any standard two speed motor or many popular high effeciency 1/4Hp single speed or similar pumps, and yes, even submersable pumps have been used on these filters with great success.
